Earthquakes occur frequently lately has caused thousands of deaths and injuries. The high number of casualties due to panic during the earthquake, where many people spontaneously try to move from its original position without realizing the danger in the vicinity.
Perhaps the victims would survive if it does not panic and follow-up action to save the true self. Doug Copp, Rescue Chief and Disaster Manager of the American Rescue Team International (ARTI), the most experienced rescue team in the world, published an article that contains tips that can save lives in an earthquake.
Almost everyone who just duck and cover when buildings collapse are crushed to death ruins of death. We suggest you pick up crouched position during the earthquake, like cats, dogs and babies as a natural instinct to save ourselves. Do not hide under the body because your body will collapse. You can survive in a narrow room. Get next to an object, next to the sofa, next to a large bulky object that will compress slightly but leave a void next to it.
If you are in bed when an earthquake occurs, simply roll off the bed. A safe void will be in bed. If an earthquake happens and you can not exit through a window or door, then lay curled up on the sofa or large chair.
Do not stand under a doorway when the quake. If the door jam falls forward or backward you will be crushed by the ceiling above it. If the door jam falls sideways you will be crushed and cut in half by it. In both cases, you will not be saved.
Do not ever run through the steps, because the ladder has a moment of "frequency" which is different from the main building. The stairs will become part of the building will be damaged. Even if the building does not collapse, stay away from stairs.
If you are in the vehicle during the earthquake, get out and lie down next to your vehicle. When the earthquake, all vehicles have been empty is as high as one meter on the side, except for vehicles that had columns fall directly on the highway.
Get near the outer wall of the building or outside if possible. It would be safe to be near the outside of the building rather than in it. Wooden buildings are the safest type of construction during an earthquake. Wood is flexible and moves with the force of the earthquake. If the wooden building does collapse, large survival voids are made.
